1. Strength and rigidity ofinsulating glass

The strength of insulating glass refers to the ability of insulating glass to resist external load, and the rigidity refers to the ability of insulating glass to bear deformation. Obviously, given the glass material, such as ordinary plate glass or tempered glass, the fracture strength of the original glass sheet is determined according to the glass strength design theory. Therefore, in order to improve the carrying capacity of insulating glass, it is necessary to make the bending and tensile stress of the glass surface smaller under the same load, which is related to the size of the original insulating glass (length, width, aspect ratio and thickness of each original) and the thickness of the hollow layer. 2. Bearing characteristics of insulating glass under the failure state of insulating layer.

In the case of the hollow layer gas seal, the transfer of the gas can transfer part of the external load to another pieceof glass, but when the gas layer leakage, the hollow layer gas completely lost the transfer of the load, at this time, the hollow glass bearing the load is completely borne by the piece of glass directly under the force. Obviously, the load bearing capacity of insulating glass will decrease obviously.

3. Influence of environmental temperature and pressure difference on bearing capacity of insulating glass.

Even if from the external loads, as a result of the hollow glass production there is a difference, geographical environment and use the regional environment can result in hollow glass insulating layer of the expansion or contraction of the gas, as a direct result of two pieces of glass glass deformation and additional stress, serious knock against each other in together, will make two pieces of glass and even lead to broken glass.

To sum up, the carrying capacity of insulating glass depends on the strength and stiffness of the glass plate and the tightness of the hollow layer. Under the uniform load, the force on the outside and inside of the insulating glass is different. When the side length of insulating glass is more than 150 times of thickness, the force of two sides of glass tends to be close. After the hollow layer gas leakage failure, the bearing deformation performance of hollow glass changes obviously. By applying concentrated load on the hollow glass and measuring the deflection of the inner and outer plates or the change of the thickness of the hollow layer, it can be recognized whether the air layer in the hollow layer is sealed well or not. The test and field test results show that this method and detection device can conveniently, quickly and reliably detect the sealing performance of insulating glass.
